Black Crow Vs. Mallika Sherawat

Someone declared Phoonk a hit and Ram Gopal Varma has been flying high since then. And what makes him elated is that in comparison to Mallika Sherawat’s Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam, Phoonk had a better opening.
RGV wrote on his blog, ‘It is common knowledge that many a times star are signed by directors not because they fit the characters but because the distributors and trade pundits demand them. The tremendous opening of Phoonk all over the country proves that instead of crores charging Mallika, Paresh (Rawal) etc, you can pull audience with a 500 rupees-per-shift charging crow.’‘I am taking this example because stars are what we put because stars are what we put on the posters to attract crowds into the theatres, ant the star we put on the posters of Phoonk is the crow,’ added Varma.
So folks, after Urmila and Nisha Kothari… looks like RGV has found a new muse - the crow. So we will get to see more of the crow in future movies of RGV.

Mallika Turns Sallu Down

Mallika Sherawat, who will be soon seen in Ugly Aur Pagli, turned down the offer to appear in Sallu’s “Dus Ka Dum”. Sallu and Mallika’s cold war started off in 2006, when the actors started for a world tour as a team. And this was just a rude way of making Sallu realise how important Mallika madam can be to him.Was it the cold war, or Mallika is just not smart enough to even guess the answers???

SRK gets himself a van, 14 meters long

Bollywood’s baadshah SRK, is known to do things King size and the actor has gone ahead and bought himself a vanity van, a whooping 14 meters long designed by Dilip Chhabarai.
Dilip says, “We delivered Shah Rukh his van a week ago. It took us four whole months to build it, making it one of our most ambitious projects. Normally, we design vans that are eight to nine metres in length. But this one’s 14 metres long. But since a 14-metre van can’t be easily navigated, we’ve used a hydraulic system that enables the van to reduce in size when in motion. It can later expand to double its size when stationary.”
Describing the look of the van, Dilip says, “The van is a Volvo that is available in India, but what distinguishes this van from that of others is its chassis. We’ve used the biggest one. With five rooms inside, SRK will have the comfort of a lounge with bar, a gym, an office, a bedroom and a wash room with a shower. And since SRK is a technofreak, we’ve designed the van keeping that in mind, with an abundant scope for technology. The entire van has dual system for everything and new software has been created and programmed on the computer, converting all switches to touch screen. So, when SRK’s in a party mood, the lights can work as party lights, and when he wants to relax, the lights can shift to relax mode.”
“SRK was keen to have certain things his way, so he has put in a lot of effort in the project. And the result of course, is one of the best designs we’ve created.”
Whoa SRK, has got himself a mobile home!

Ranbir Kapoor turns into Rocket Singh

Check out Ranbir’s sleek look as a Sardar, Rocket Singh - Salesman of the year, being directed by Shimit Amin.
Ranbir plays the role of a salesman in the movie, and sports a true Sikh look with a Sikh like beard unlike Akshay Kumar who sported a french beard in Singh is Kinng.
So how do you find Ranbir as a Sardar? Rocking?

Saif: I don’t think any terrorist is a Muslim

Saif Ali Khan is preparing religiously for his role of a Islamic fundamentalist in Resil D’Silva’s untitled flick and his research for his role has made his politically and religiously more aware.
Saif says, “The role has not only made me more politically aware, it has also made me more religious. Earlier, I was more spiritual than religious. I knew a lot of things about Islam and always believed in the higher power. But when I did a lot of reading on Islam, the one most decisive thing that I learnt had to do with Allah. We tend to presume Allah to be the Muslim God. But Allah is the Arab word for the ‘same God’, or the ‘one true God’ that, I thought, was a wonderful thing to learn while doing this character. All religions believe in the oneness of God. So what’s all the fighting about? Whether it’s Christianity, Islam or Judaism, many of the religions have fought a holy war at one time or another. It’s been a part of religious history.”
Saif’s co-star in the movie is Vivek Oberoi, Saif reveals, “It’s the most politically relevant character I’ve played. Though my character Langda Tyagi in Omkara was a political creature, his politics was subverted. In Rensil’s film, I play the Jehadi as a very real and suave gentleman, dressed in very dapper clothes like a college professor and hence more frightening. I play an Islamic fundamentalist while Vivek Oberoi plays the more moderate Muslim.”
“To me the whole point of being an actor is to become characters I can’t be in real life. My character in Rensil’s film is redeemed at the end. But even if he wasn’t, I’d still say yes to a role that explores my emotions that lie too deep for fears and tears. My character in Rensil’s film has become the way he has because of the way Americans have treated Afghanistan and other Islamic states. I don’t think 26/11 or earlier 9/11 are Islamic acts. No matter what people say, I don’t think any terrorist is a Muslim. Let’s make that distinction very clear. Of course the population of Afghanistan may disagree with me. But I condemn 26/11 as a deed done by non-Muslims.”
Looks like Saif has turned more wiser now, thanks to his new director.

SRK to transform into a superhero

Bollywood has its own league of superheroes, be it Hrithik Roshan for Krissh or Abhishek Bachchan for Drona and now another actor is ready to join this Justice league, the King Khan - SRK.
SRK tickled our funny bone by donning the superhero outfit in Om Shanti Om and in Billu Barber too, but this time its a serious and full-fledged role being directed by Anubhav Sinha.
The flick will be having loads of special effects and fighting sequences and the film will take a start in September.
So what do you think folks? SRK as a superhero?

Katrina suffers from flu

While the whole world is caught ungaurded in the pandemonioum of swine flu, our pretty actress Katrina Kaif suffered from viral flu while shooting for Priyadarshan’s De Dana Dan and this resulted in the shooting being stalled.
A source says, “Doctors have advised her complete rest and although she was supposed to shoot for a song, she is unable to.”
Apparently Katrina who is always on time for her shoots was missing from the sets on Saturday, worried people tried to contact her, “Then we got the message that she was unwell. So from the past two days, portions between Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty are being shot.”
Producer of the flick, Ratan says, “She is better now and hopefully we will shoot with her today.”
Get well soon Katrina.

Bebo is Saif’s business advisor

Saif Ali Khan after a long innings in Bollywood has made his foray into production, by starting his own prodution company Illuminati Films, and his business advisor is none other than lady love Kareena Kapoor.
A source reveals, “Saif is working really hard to make his production company kick off proceedings in style with Agent Vinod and Love Aaj Kal. Kareena is certainly someone who knows every major decision that is being taken by Saif. She in fact is an active partner when it comes to feedback and is advising Saif on which projects to back as a producer.”
Another source informs, “Saif had flown to Srinagar as he had planned a surprise birthday bash for her as she was shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots in Leh last year. The shooting was cancelled due to extremely bad weather conditions and they had met up somewhere near Kargil. We hear that the couple was driving down to Srinagar from Kargil when Kareena suddenly proposed to Saif that he should make Race 2. She was very serious that he should make it as the first movie was a big hit. After some thought, Saif took up the matter with Tips who were more than willing to come forward.”
Well Chote Nawab must be feeling quite lucky, to have a business advisor for free!

Akshay threatens to leave hotel for IPL

Akshay Kumar is a cricket enthusiast, and with no Set Max in his hotel room in Singapore, where he is shooting for Dan Dana Dan, Akki threatened to leave the hotel, if he couldn’t get to see IPL matches.
Producer, Ratan Jain says, “When Akshay came here last week, he asked me if we are watching the matches. When I told him that it was getting very difficult to catch-up with IPL matches because the hotel did not have that channel, he spoke to the owner and told him that if he didn’t get the matches, he won’t stay in the hotel. Within minutes the channel started beaming in the hotel.”
Jain adds, “I guess, apart from us Indians, no one was interested in the IPL. The hotel also must have paid a huge amount to subscribe to the channel; but Akshay is happy and now the entire unit can watch the matches together during breaks.”
