Aamir Khan: Gone in 60 minutes

After the success of Ghajini, Aamir Khan isn’t sitting back and relaxing.

It comes as no surprise to know that Aamir initially refused to attend the Ghajini success party which happened a couple of days ago. Apparently it is on the recommendation of industrialist Mukesh Ambani that the team of 3 Idiots got the permission to shoot inside the IIM premises. The film’s schedule has been worked around the students’ timetable. Says a source,
“Aamir would do nothing to shake the tight schedule of 3 Idiots in Bangalore. At first he refused to be part of the party. It took all the producers’ persuasive powers to get him to fly to Mumbai just for one evening and that too, on the condition that he would stay at the party for only an hour.” Ghajini’s producer, Madhu Mantena, confirmed, “It’s true that it was almost impossible to convince Aamir to come for Ghajini’s success party. But we wanted to celebrate the film grossing over Rs 200 crore. And how could it be done without Aamir?” So how was the work-obsessed Aamir convinced to leave his location for a party? “We left the day and time for the party entirely to Aamir. He chose the evening of January 12 for the party and also the duration of his stay at the party. He made it clear that he will only stay for an hour,” says Mantena. There was, however, another family affair that Aamir attended during his fly-by-night visit to Mumbai – nephew Imran Khan’s birthday. Aamir wanted to wish Imran personally before flying back to Bangalore.
