Kareena Kapoor chooses Aamir over Saif Ali Khan

Actress Kareena Kapoor apparently chose actor Aamir Khan’s film over beau Saif Ali Khan’s venture. According to sources, Kapoor is upset over reports that when it came to allocating dates for film-maker Reema Kagti’s film, she allotted the dates meant for Saif to Aamir.
“Recent reports that the actress has decided to shoot for Reema Kagti 's film with the Khan over Agent Vinod are not true. On the contrary, Agent Vinod is moving as per schedule and Kareena has finished shooting for most of her scenes,” says a close friend of the star.
According to sources, Saif is working on some patchwork shots for his desi James Bond flick, which does not require Kareena to be present on the sets at all.
“The scenes that are currently being shot are action sequences with Saif, for which Kareena is not required. Director Sriram Raghavan is busy with the VFX (special effects) of the film,” says a unit member clarifying that Saif has already shot for a 50-day schedule of his next film and there’s sometime left for the last leg of the shooting to begin.
“Saif is currently occupied with shooting for his 50-day schedule for his next film. Kareena will only be required for the last schedule of the film,” the unit member adds.

‘Qurbaan’ takes precautions!

Bebo is Saif’s business advisor

Saif Ali Khan after a long innings in Bollywood has made his foray into production, by starting his own prodution company Illuminati Films, and his business advisor is none other than lady love Kareena Kapoor.
A source reveals, “Saif is working really hard to make his production company kick off proceedings in style with Agent Vinod and Love Aaj Kal. Kareena is certainly someone who knows every major decision that is being taken by Saif. She in fact is an active partner when it comes to feedback and is advising Saif on which projects to back as a producer.”
Another source informs, “Saif had flown to Srinagar as he had planned a surprise birthday bash for her as she was shooting for Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots in Leh last year. The shooting was cancelled due to extremely bad weather conditions and they had met up somewhere near Kargil. We hear that the couple was driving down to Srinagar from Kargil when Kareena suddenly proposed to Saif that he should make Race 2. She was very serious that he should make it as the first movie was a big hit. After some thought, Saif took up the matter with Tips who were more than willing to come forward.”
Well Chote Nawab must be feeling quite lucky, to have a business advisor for free!

Am I crazy to get married now: Kareena

Kareena Kapoor, who has received as many as four awards in just one month, says plans of her marriage to Saif Ali Khan may not happen for at least

Kareena Kapoor More Picstwo years as her career is going great guns. "It won't happen for the next two years for sure. Am I crazy to get married now when so many wonderful things are happening to my career? Saif himself is ultra-busy trying to set up his production house. Marriage can wait. I'm just happy to have him by my side. I've got the best guy any girl can ever have. "Right now I'm so busy I don't have time to sleep properly. I haven't even had time to move into my new house," Kareena told IANS in an interview. Overwhelmed after receiving four awards, she said: "Who doesn't like attention, recognition and awards? I've got four awards in a month beginning with the environment award I got from Erin Brockovich, then two youth icon awards from Rotary International and Stardust. And now on Tuesday I was honoured by FICCI which Yash Chopra gave to me. "My mother gets exasperated each time I bring home another trophy. Saif wants to know where I'm going to keep all of them. I've set aside a whole enclave for trophies and awards. I love looking at them. One day my children are going to look at them and be proud of me." Now, after a long time, Kareena will be in Mumbai for a month. "I've a month-long schedule of Rensil (D'Silva's) film coming up in Mumbai." Saif and Kareena returned home to Mumbai this week from Delhi without completing the shooting for D'Silva's film. We never expected such crowds. They were everywhere. And it was impossible to shoot," she says, sounding not the least put off. "Those people who love me out there keep me going. I love my fans and awards." And now Delhi will have to be fudged in the Mumbai schedule of D'Silva's film. The extent of the surging crowds in Delhi in the key shooting spots like Jama Masjid and Janpath for D'Silva's untitled film was so huge and unmanageable that the unit has returned without shooting the required sequences. Back in Mumbai after a week of futile shooting, Kareena says: "Everywhere we went there were these huge numbers of people who had come to see Saif and me. They were very sweet, very well-behaved. But unfortunately the number of people in key places like Jama Masjid and Janpath was always too high to shoot properly." As a result, there was almost no shooting. "We did can some shots. But it was impossible to shoot with wide-angle lenses because the crowds were everywhere. We'll now have to recreate some of the Delhi sequences in Mumbai." Kareena is certainly not unhappy about the attention she got in Delhi. "The people in Delhi were so warm. It just made me realise how much of a responsibility I have towards my audience. At this stage of my career I'd rather take another holiday than do a bad film."

Farhan for Kareena: Once a director now a co-star

This is a pair whom the fans will eagerly await to see on-screen. Farhan Akhtar who has once directed Kareena Kapoor in ‘Don- The Chase Begins Again’ will now be seen sharing screen space with her. We saw them together for just a few moments in ‘Luck By Chance’ but now they will be seen as the lead pair in Sudhir Mishra’s untitled venture. Produced by Excel Entertainment, company of Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, the movie will explore the man-woman relationship and its dynamics.
Farhan Akhtar has confirmed the news and is quite impressed by the script. He is all praises for Kareena too and says, “she’s been a friend for many years” and the film has her in “a role to die for”.
Sudhir Mishra has done ‘Chameli’ with Kareena but these are bad times for the director. His last release ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’ bombed at the box-office and he had to shelve ‘Aur Devdas’ after Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Dev. D’. Since both Kareena and Farhan are currently hot in tinsel town, lots of hopes are pinned on this project.

Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra, co-owners of Rajasthan Royals released their song Halla Bol at their bash held at a five-star suburban hotel on Tuesday.

Mumbai:
Saif wants his production house to specially pen roles for BeboKareena Kapoor has always been selective in her choice of roles; now, she's also paying attention to the depth of her roles. Substantial, please! It is believed that when Sohail Khan approached her for his home production, starring himself and brother Salman, Bebo asked him to have her role rewritten to make it more substantial Sohail did so. The actress says, "Main Aur Mrs Khanna is a girl's story and Sohail and Salman have great roles."Would she consider having a role written especially for her? She says, "Saif has a production house and he asks me what roles I want to do and that he will have them written for me. I am very lucky. One film I am dying to do is Mamma Mia! it's brilliant. I love Meryl Streep and only watch her films! I would love to do a Mother India too, but who can write such good scripts today?"A point to proveBebo continues, "I have always been clear about what roles I want to do. If someone says I can't do a role, I instantly take it up as a point to prove be it a 22-year-old sex worker in Chameli or playing Dolly Mishra in a male-dominated Omkara. I've done it without any sugar daddy to thank. It is sheer hard work and dedication and the faith of my wonderful directors Sudhir Mishra, Imtiaz Ali, Vishal Bhardwaj, Rensil D'Silva, Raju Hirani and Saabir Khan among others."Do me a favour, don't play HoliKareena whose family started the trend of Holi bashes didn't play this year. "I slept and caught up on all that I missed out while attending Amu's wedding last week. I stopped playing Holi as the colours stay and then it becomes difficult to shoot. I miss my grandfather's parties at RK Studios. He took that with him when he left. Now no Kapoor celebrates the festival in a big way. I remember as a child full of awe watching the stars who would come to attend grandfather's Holi bash from Dilip uncle to all the actresses of that time."

Kareena, Sreesanth voted PETA's sexiest vegetarians alive

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor and cricket star S. Sreesanth have been crowned the winners of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals' (PETA) annual Sexiest Vegetarians Alive poll.
The online contest was conducted by petaDishoom, PETA India's youth arm. Kareena captured the female title for the second year in succession, while fast bowler Sreesanth beat out fellow vegetarian cricket stars Ishant Sharma and Anil Kumble to win the title.
Kareena and Sreesanth narrowly edged out 2007 winner R. Madhavan, model and doctor Aditi Gowitrikar, Pentagram vocalist Vishal Dadlani, and singer Kailash Kher, among others.
Other top contenders include Olympic Bronze Medallist Sushil Kumar, actors Alicia Silverstone, Pamela Anderson, Hansika Motwani, Mallika Sherawat, Mahima Chaudhary and Rajneesh Duggal, musicians Sir Paul McCartney and Moby and designers Anita Dongre and Hemant Trevedi.
"When you look at the dozens of gorgeous celebrities in this year's poll, there are no bones about it - a vegetarian diet makes you beautiful inside and out", said Anuradha Sawhney of PETA India.
"After all, going vegetarian is the best thing you can do for the animals, the earth and your health," Sawhney added.

Kareena says Goodbye to Size Zero

Size 0 is out. Kareena Kapoor is down to a healthy normal desi girl's model-like figure.

Kareena Kapoor More PicsReason? "My next two releases required me to get back to a fuller shape. In my next release Kambhakt Ishq I play a surgeon who moonlights as a super-model. So she can't really have the figure of Victoria Beckham , can she?" A surgeon who's a super-model? Sounds like a deadly combination. "Yeah my character flies to Italy to become a super-model to support herself financially. I didn't want to play the character looking like an international model because she's basically in another profession. So I looked more filled. Again, for my next release Mr & Mrs Khanna with Salman I play a wife. So I wanted to look more filled up." Now Kareena has decided to hold steady with her new weight. "I weigh 54 kgs now, which for a girl my height is quite okay. People used to wonder what 'Size 0' is and I'd say, 'Just look at me'. I don't want that anymore. I want to look like a nice normal healthy girl." Of late Kareena has been working like a dog and eating like a hog. "I've been working 20 hours a day .I'm exhusated. And I eat like a pig. So in any case holding on to the mythical 'Size 0' look is impossible."

Here's what your fave star thinks about love

Kareena Kapoor “Friendship happened first, and then love. Saif and I were friends right through Tashan. After that, we became lovers. Jab We Met was before I met Saif. I thought if he can be my best friend, and be such a wonderful father to his kids, the rest will just follow.”

Bebo as bridesmaid

Amrita Arora is getting married on March 6, and Kareena Kapoor’s all set for her best friend’s wedding.

Kareena Kapoor More PicsWhy not? We heard Bebo will be Ammu’s bridesmaid. Kareena is trying to take out time from her tight schedule to help the bride. Not just that. Bebo herself has made the rounds to the best stores in town and co-ordinated with the best fashion designers to design her gown. Although, Amrita will be the maiden of the night, we are eager to watch Kareena in her ‘gown’ing glory!

'I'm well rounded'

Kareena Kapoor says that her ‘tall, dark and handsome’ beau Saif Ali Khan is always with her, and so, they don’t need to be together on Valentine’s Day. The first part was obvious — a day after she landed in Delhi for a brand promotion, Saif joined her, and they shot together on Sunday. As for the second, Bebo makes it clear that she’s working on V-Day. “I don’t believe in all this. My tall, dark and handsome man is always with me!” she says.
They’ve been making appearances together too — for the marathon in Delhi, for the Mumbai IPL team last year... “All I understand is Bollywood,” says Bebo, when asked whether she’s going to be seen in the second season as well. However, the one thing she usually finds time for is her yoga — and 100 surya namaskars on some days. “Yoga is the best form of exercise. I do yoga everyday for at least one-and-a-half hours, and can work for the whole day without feeling tired,” she says.
So, is that how she has that ‘size zero’ figure? “I am not size zero! In fact, I’m well-rounded! And I’m tired of telling everyone that,” she says. It’s been an eventful weekend for Bebo — on Friday evening, she received an award from Erin Brockovich in Mumbai. “It’s a great feeling to be given these awards. It makes you feel special,” Bebo says.
What also makes her feel special, is having worked with Sly Stallone and Denise Richards. “Though they have barely a minute’s role in the movie, it was a humbling experience to work with them. And right now, it’s great to be a part of the Indian film industry, because everyone wants to be associated with us. So many Hollywood stars have worked with us, I guess we’re waiting for Brad Pitt now! And see what accolades Slumdog Millionaire is getting for India! God willing, one day, one of my movies will win an Oscar too,” she says.

Kareena replaces Katrina in Race 2

Kareena replaces Katrina in sequel
Getting It On: Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. imaging/ dharmesh rathodAbbas-Mustaan's Race, produced by Tips, turned out to be one of 2008's biggest grossers. The film garnered appreciation not just from critics but also the masses so much so, Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor and Tips are already planning a sequel to it but this time the previous heroines (Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu) won't be there. Saif's girlfriend Kareena has replaced Katrina in Race 2.
Casting change
Ramesh Taurani from Tips says, "Yes, we are already working on the script of Race 2. We were thrilled with Race's success. Theatrically and overseas, it grossed Rs 120 crore and was one of the blockbusters of 2008; that's why we are planning a sequel to it.
Abbas-Mustaan will direct the sequel while Saif and Anil will be retained. We are also going in for new casting with the sequel. Kareena will act in Race 2 opposite Saif. In Race, the story will be different while some of the characters will remain the same."
Slicker and sexier
Saif Ali Khan adds, "I am very excited to be part of the Race sequel. I have been offered many sequels but there are only certain films which merit a sequel Race is one of them.
We aim to make Race 2 better than the original. It will be slicker, faster, sexier, more thrilling and upgraded in a much bigger way from Race."
Polishing things up
He continues, "Right now, Race 2 is in the scripting stage we need to polish up a few things. There were some glitches in Race, which we plan to smoothen out in R2. If everything works out well, Abbas- Mustaan will be directing the sequel.
I'm also looking forward to Kareena being a part of the film. We need a very glamorous actress to play the role and Kareena fits the bill best on the glam quotient. We will also be shooting in exotic locations like Barbados and all over the world."

Bebo's V-day plans

Kareena Kapoor says that her ‘tall dark and handsome’, namely beau Saif Ali Khan, is always with her, and they don’t need to be together specially on Valentine’s Day
The first part was quite obvious – a day after she landed in Delhi for a promotional do, her ‘tall, dark and handsome’ joined her and they shot together on Sunday morning in the heart of Delhi (see box). As for the second, Bebo makes it clear that she’s working on V-Day. “I knew that I’d be asked what I was going to do on Valentine’s. I’m working on V-Day, and as it is, I don’t believe in all this. My tall, dark and handsome is always with me!” she says.

They’ve been making appearances together too – for the marathon in Delhi, cheering for the Mumbai IPL team last year ... “The only thing I understand is Bollywood,” says Bebo, about whether she’s going to be seen in the second season as well. “IPL, business and all this stuff I don’t understand. But I will try and take out time to watch some matches.”
However, the one thing she usually finds time for is her yoga – and 100 surya namaskars on some days. “There are many ways of staying mentally and physically fit, but I maintain that yoga is the best form of exercise. I do yoga every day for at least one and a half hours, and can work for the whole day without feeling tired. But when I miss my yoga session, I feel pathetic the entire day,” she says. So is that how she has that ‘size zero figure’? “I am not size zero! In fact, I’m well rounded! And I’m tired of telling everyone that.” And does she really do the surya namaskar 100 times a day? “On an average 60, but yes, even 100 at times. It takes about half an hour to do it 100 times,” she confirms.
It’s been an eventful weekend for Bebo – on Friday evening, she was given an award in Mumbai by Erin Brockovich, and she was mighty thrilled about it. “It’s a great feeling to be given these awards. It makes you feel special,” Bebo says happily. What also makes her happy is having worked with Sly Stallone and Denise Richards. “It was a pleasure working with those guys. And right now, it’s great to be a part of the Indian film industry, because everyone wants to be associated with us. So many Hollywood stars have worked with us, I guess we’re just waiting for Brad Pitt now! And look what accolades Slumdog Millionaire is getting for India! It’s amazing how Indians are doing so well globally. God willing, one day one of my movies will win an Oscar too,” she says.
And what about having worked with the three Khans – does that make her the queen bee in Bollywood? “It is always a very different experience – working with different actors. But as far as kings and queens are concerned, they only exist in a pack of cards and not in Bollywood. Bollywood only has artistes doing their job.”

Kareena-Salman bury the hatchet

After Kareena Kapoor made the first move to kiss and make-up with former friend Salman Khan on Friday, the two couldn’t stop cracking jokes and laughing together on the sets of Main Aur Mrs Khanna
The long-drawn-out cold war between Kareena Kapoor and Salman Khan has come to an end. Much to everyone’s relief, the two stars finally broke the ice while shooting for Main Aur Mrs Khanna at Panchgani on Friday. Cracks in the Kareena-Salman friendship developed when Salman had differences with Shahid Kapur during the Rock Star concert in 2006. Since Kareena and Shahid were romantically involved, Kareena’s relationship with Salman too hit troubled waters. For most onlookers, it was a rare sight to see Kareena, Salman and Saif Ali Khan laughing together and sharing jokes on the film’s sets. Although Saif doesn’t star in the film, he was there to spend time with Kareena. Our source from the production unit said, “When they started shooting for Main Aur Mrs Khanna, Kareena and Salman only behaved like professionals. Anybody who saw them share icy vibes would never have been able to tell that the two were thick friends once upon a time. Even as their on-screen chemistry sizzled in Main Aur Mrs Khanna, they refused to interact off-screen.In fact, things were so bad that director Prem Soni would have to discuss scenes separately with both the stars. But during the Panchgani schedule, Kareena and Salman hit it off instantly.”It was Kareena who made the first move in order to break the ice. Commenting on what exactly happened, our source said, “There was a sensitive scene that required a lengthy discussion. Ideally it was Prem Soni who would have discussed the scene separately with both of them. But this time, things were different. Kareena suddenly walked up to Salman and began chatting about the intricacies of the scene with him. Initially, Salman was taken by surprise but gradually he was amused by what Kareena was saying. Then suddenly, they started laughing out loud. Saif’s presence further eased things as Saif and Salman share an excellent rapport. A delighted Prem Soni then started discussing the scenes with Kareena and Salman together. It was an emotional reunion especially because Kareena’s sister Karisma too is a close friend of Salman.”Our source added, “Despite a cold war with Salman, Kareena had agreed to play the lead in Main Aur Mrs Khanna because she liked the script. But Kareena is happy to bond with Salman once again.”We tried contacting Prem Soni but the director was unavailable for comment.

'I didn't back out,' says Kareena

You’ve apparently made up your mind to not do any more stage shows.

That’s not true at all. I never said that. But I won’t dance at weddings and private functions. I’ve done it in the past. But I won’t do it any more. I don’t want to or need to do such things. Dancing for a proper staged event, including awards functions, is fine. In fact, I’m dancing at an event in Delhi in the last week of January.
You’d refused to dance with other actresses at an awards function...
I had nothing against dancing for the function. The Moranis (the organisers) were discussing it with me from the time I was going on holiday. I was out of reach for a week. But before I left for my holiday, I told them I didn’t like the five-diva act concept. I had informed them of this before I left for my holiday. I didn’t want to be a part of it. Is that a crime?
You had informed the organizers of your reservations in advance?
Oh yes, well in advance. So, I didn’t ‘back out’. I love awards and love to dance at awards functions. Last year, I danced at all the awards functions. This year, I don’t have the time to rehearse for these functions. See, for the kind of films I’m doing, I’ve got to be completely there. I can’t take out four hours to rehearse. I’ll dance next year. I want my performances on stage to be exclusive and rare.
But the general perception is that you don’t enjoy being on stage.
Oh, I love it! But not right now. I’ve to give my best to my roles. As an actor, that’s my first priority. I’d like to give 100 per cent of myself to the camera. I was shooting in Bangalore for 3 Idiots. I will be in Mumbai for a couple of days to shoot an ad. And then I leave India to shoot for an international magazine.
How is it going with 3 Idiots?
I’m totally blessed to be working with Raju Hirani and Aamir Khan. I’m not there for the whole Bangalore schedule. Beyond that I can’t say much about the film...except that I’m not playing one of the idiots.
You’ve also decided not to talk about your relationship with Saif Ali Khan?
Too much was said and written about us in 2008. So, until our relationship goes to the next level, there’s no need to talk about it.
Do you feel there is a Saif-Kareena overkill in the media?
There’s a curiosity about us because we’re seen as a glam couple. We both laugh about it. Saif looks at himself in the mirror and asks, ‘Do you think I’m glamorous?’ I tend to be very open about my feelings. We’ve never hidden our relationship, but we’ve said enough. This year, let our films talk.
You’ve just been on a holiday. Have you come back looking healthier?
If by that you mean have I put on weight, then yes. I have. I need put on weight for 3 Idiots and Rensil d’Silva’s film. In the Marjani song I’m looking... slim. But not paper thin. I’ll continue to be healthy and eat healthy. I snack here and there. But I’ve become so conscious of my fitness level that I can’t eat at irregular hours. I wake up with yoga.

Kareena plays diva...again

Kareena Kapoor has refused to perform with Katrina Kaif
, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu at an awards function to be held
Kareena Kapoor (TOI Photo) More Picstomorrow. The organisers were taken by surprise when they learnt that Kareena had opted out of the show at the last minute. They have been running the promos of the show with Kareena and the other four actresses. Kareena informed the organisers about her decision last evening. The act in question was the finale of the awards ceremony. Our source said, “The organisers had planned back-to-back performances with Kareena, Katrina, Priyanka, Deepika and Bipasha. Kareena, who has done many more films than the other four, who are performing in the finale did not want to be clubbed with them. She wants to do bigger, better and exclusive stuff.” Our source added, “As a policy, Kareena has decided not to perform at weddings and New Year bashes and she had made this public too. As for this particular function, she was in two minds for some time but later decided to stick to her decision.” Director of the show, Mohammed Morani of Cineyug said, “Kareena is out from the function. Her name has been pulled out from the TV promos.”
