Shahid Kapoor and the secret of his bums

Shahid Kapoor is so conscious about his perfect physique that he takes extra efforts not only to keep his biceps and abs fit but also to help look his posterior appealing. Now, the secret of Shahid’s perfectly round hips is out. The chocolate boy has apparently been using ‘bum bags’ to help make his hips round.
A bum bag is a fabric pouch that comes with a zipper and is worn around the waist and strapped around the bums. The fact was revealed to a newspaper by a close source who also added that “Shahid has been wearing bum bags ever since his debut film, ‘Ishq Vishq’ in 2003.”
Shahid is very regular in hitting the gym and has worked hard to attain the perfectly chiselled physique but unfortunately has a flat butt and has unable to put on weight on his hips. His lean and boyish structure has always been the source of his worry. So, as soon as he arrives at the sets and once he enters his vanity van, he makes sure that he wears bum bags in every single shot.

Shahid thrilled to play ‘bad’ on screen

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapur, who is essaying a double-role, with speech disorders, in Vishal Bharadwaj’s upcoming film Kaminey is thrilled to play ‘bad’ on screen for the first time.
“Good can get boring after a period of time. I have tried to achieve what director Vishal Bharadwaj has envisaged. It is the best double role that I have come across in recent times,” Shahid, who has spinned success with his typical choclate boy image in earlier films.
The actor’s character ‘Guddu’ stammers while ‘Charlie’ has a lisp.
“We visited ENT specialists and did some research by meeting people who face such disorders in real life. I have tried to realistically represent both the characters. They are not caricatures,” Shahid Kapur said adding “it was comparatively more difficult to play ‘Guddu’.”
“Earlier in films, such characters were meant to do only comedy. But, for the first time, a hero was representing such people on screen and they were very happy about it. It is my most challenging role till date,” he said.
However, he was surprised and disappointed over Kaminey been given a ‘A’ certificate by the Censor Board.
“There is a lot more violence in other films,” he retorted.
On the film’s music, especially the hit number Dhan Te Nan, Shahid said, “the track stands for the attitude of the film.”
The song will also be brought out in a female version, Priyanka, who plays the female lead in the movie, said adding “It will not be part of the film. Vishal will gift it to me.”
The actress is potraying the role of ‘Sweety’, who is fiesty and vivacious like her in real life, she said.
Kaminey is Shahid’s widest release ever with over 1100 prints while his previous Kismet Konnection released with over 900 prints.
The young actor lashed out at the media for speculating about his alleged fight with Vishal Bharadwaj.
“Such stories are not at all funny. Vishal has worked with my father and is a very senior member of the film fraternity. I respect him too much,” Shahid said.

Fahid’s feech therapy

Shahid Kapur whose character in Kaminey uses ‘f’ for ‘s’ took lessons on how to lisp and stammer convincingly

Vishal Bharadwaj is a meticulous filmmaker. Leaving nothing to chance, Vishal took Shahid Kapur, lead actor of his forthcoming film Kaminey, to an ENT Surgeon Dr Prabodh Karnik so that Shahid could convincingly play his role in the film. Since Shahid plays a double role, Charlie who lisps and Guddu who stammers, in Kaminey, Vishal wanted him to understand the two speech defects very well before he faced the camera.A few days before the film went on the floors, the meeting was arranged in Dr Karnik's clinic at Dadar where Vishal and Shahid had long, detailed sittings with the doctor. Vishal and Shahid wanted to understand all about the two speech defects so that the actor could get under the skin of both the characters.Confirming the story, Dr Karnik told Mumbai Mirror, "I know Vishal Bharadwaj. He wanted to know why people stammer and how we evaluate and treat them. We gave them all the information that they were looking for."Shahid confirmed this and said, "Yes, I met Dr Karnik. Vishal is a filmmaker who likes to stick as close as possible to reality. Meeting Dr Karnik helped us a lot. It was a good learning experience. My object was just to make it as believable as possible."After two one-hour-long sittings with Dr Karnik over two days, Vishal and Shahid also went across to the Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped and the Speech Disabled where Shahid personally interacted with patients who stammer or lisp. "Those sessions were run by an audiologist and speech therapist Dr Sadhana Relekar," said Dr Karnik.Dr Karnik added, "Stammering and stuttering is more prevalent in men. Most kids have a problem in speaking fluently especially in the initial stages of their life, but this problem is further aggravated when parents force their child to speak fluently without stuttering. Such children are susceptible to laryngeal tension, which causes the problem. As for those who lisp, it results due to poor co-ordination between pharynx, mouth and lips."Has Dr Karnik seen the rushes of Kaminey to see the fruits of his teachings? "No. That's not under my purview," said Dr Karnik. When asked to comment on his roles in the film, Shahid said, "Kaminey has been a very challenging experience. I wouldn't say I have a better understanding of speech impaired people that would take some time I think."

Priyanka and Shahid take love online

The newest B-Town jodi's cyber secrets exposed!
Priyanka Chopra didn't admit to being in a relationship with Hurman Baweja for the four years they were together, so no one is expecting her to admit that there's something developing between her and her Kaminey co-star Shahid Kapoor.
In touch
PC is presently in Chicago for Ashutosh Gowariker's What's Your Raashee? Meanwhile, Shahid is in Jodhpur. The couple, who live in the same building at Versova, are constantly in touch when in town but now are connected via phone and the internet.
The two young lovers have also been writing on each other's 'walls', 'poking' each other and exchanging messages on popular online portal Facebook.
Priyanka is addicted to Facebook. She keeps in touch with her friends through the social networking website. Her profile on the portal doesn't bear her name.
She calls herself Sir Pranks-a-lot. Also she hasn't put up her latest picture, but one from her childhood. This way she can maintain her privacy and also not get spammed by people for friend requests."
The source adds that it was Priyanka who got Shahid to make his account active. Now he has been signing into his account more frequently. Priyanka told him how everyone from the industry is communicating via the website. And now they often connect online.
In fact, they have been posting flirty messages (see box) as well.
Says a common friend, "They keep writing on each other's walls, commenting on each other's status messages and poking each other.
Priyanka's relationship status was in an invisible mode when she was with Harman, but after the break- up, she's listed as single. Shahid too is listed as single on his profile."
PC has given Shahid a new nick name, "Shahid is called Sha-Sha by his close friends, but Priyanka calls him Shaks. In fact, she has addressed him as Shaks in most of her messages." And he calls her Peefee. Sweet!
Status Check

Shahid’s using swear words?

He’s looking like a million bucks these days.

Shahid Kapoor More PicsBut, the uber-polite gentleman, Shahid Kapur, has shown us what he is capable of when push comes to shove. Apparently, the actor has to say umpteen swear-words in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey. We’re sure it wasn’t the most comfortable thing for the suave and sophisticated SK! But according to reports, he’s managed his gaalis so well in the film that Bhardwaj is maha-impressed. Well, let’s hope the Censor Board is as impressed and doesn’t cut a long story short!

Shahid-Kareena kab milenge??

We are pretty aware that both Shahid and Kareena are happy doing their own thing after their much talked about break-up.
Shahid and Kareena in a still from Jab We Met More PicsHowever, their last film together, Milenge Milenge, is still struggling to see the light of day. We’ve heard that the shooting of the film is over and all that is left is some dubbing. However, all the enthusiasm seems to have hit rock bottom with this flick. Even the producers aren’t too sure about the prospects of the movie, since Bebo and Shahid both look completely different now, than they did a few years ago. Sad na, that while Milenge Milenge is still in production, our dear actors – Kareena and Shahid – do their very best not to meet at all.

Shahid wants to be 'best among best'

Bollywood eye candy Shahid Kapur says he only wants to compete with the crème-de-la-crème in the industry.
"Why should I compete with any one person? I would like to compete with the best and want to be the best among the best. That is where I want to reach ultimately," Shahid told IANS.
However, the actor doesn't mean competition in the literal sense.
"A lot of times I see a great performance and get inspired to work better. I feel competition is a wrong term, I think it's more about professional camaraderie and appreciation of someone's work and finding reasons to work harder the next day," he added.
